Tono Hiroaki (東野弘昭 Tōno Hiroaki, born 1939) is a retired Kansai Ki-in professional Go player who reached 9-dan in 1970 and retired 2005-10-31. Elder brother of Tono Masaharu 9p.

Tono won the 26th NHK Cup (1979) and 31st and 33rd Kansai Kiin First Place Championship in 1987 and 1989.

Best player of the Kansai Kiin in 1992, he was awarded the Risen Prize 3 times, also reserved to Kansai Kiin players.

Bob McGuigan: It was in a test match with Tono that Manfred Wimmer, first Western player to achieve professional status, qualified for professional shodan. Wimmer lost a two stone game by 3 points (see Go World No. 6) but this was considered an adequate performance to qualify for shodan.
