Teikei Cup Shun'ei

(テイケイ杯俊英戦) One of the three "Teikei Cup" tournaments created in 2021.

Shun'ei is for players aged 25 or under. The final is a 3-game match between winners of two 6-player round-robin leagues. League members are chosen anew through preliminaries each year; there are no remaining members.

The final starts in March each year. The winner ‘graduates’ from the tournament; he loses the right to participate in later editions.

The winner's prize is 10 million yen, the richest for a youth tournament and in fact richer than two of the seven major tournaments in Japan.
