te ari

    Keywords: Go term

Te ari (手あり, 手有り, 手有) is a Japanese phrase meaning that there is a play (te), or someone has a play. In go literature it is mainly used for problems, such as semeai or connection problems in tsumego. It is also used in the saying, Jichu ni te ari (地中に手あり), "Inside {the opponent's} territory there is a play."
