Tanbo

    Keywords: Variant

Tanbo is a board game which is played with a Goban and Go stones set.

It is developed by Mark Steere as other game that can be played with go equipment

Tanbo is a game of roots or groups of connected, like-colored stones. Players start the game with eight single-stone roots each. On a move you must expand, one of your roots.

But you may not make clumps, closed loops or connect two of your roots. A stone must always be placed so that it is connected to one and only one friendly stone.

Eventually however, all stones of one color will be removed while at least one stone of the other color remains. The player who still has one or more stones on the board after all opposing stones have been removed is the winner.
