subway go
The phrase subway go refers to a practical but not necessarily beautiful style of go: It takes where you want to go, but you don't get to see any scenery.
The phrase originates with Takemiya Masaki, when he was describing the style of Kobayashi Koichi as chikatetsu no go (地下鉄の碁).
