Sewing Machine Sequence

The sewing machine sequence is a sequence along the edge, where a repetitive pattern forces one player to crawl along the edge, while the other player creates influence.

The pattern repeats

black fails

Note that black could escape if there is support in the upper right corner, but even then he has traded devastating thickness and influence for zero points, and might as well resign.

Example from a game
