Charles Looks to me as if here is not something White can afford: once the eyes in the centre are gone, White needs to live in the corner, as --a is killing.

Ah, but as Black is cut off on the right, Black a is going to lead to a capturing race. So better to play Black b.

If White resists , it gets tricky.

In a game I'd want to play here. It gives White a chance to go wrong.
