    Keywords: People

Paul Prescott is a former British Go player. He challenged Jon Diamond for the British Title 4 times from 1974 to 1977, but only won it once, in 1974. In 1974 the title match consisted of a single game which he won convincingly. After this the format became a 5 game match series.

His best result in the European Championship was joint 4th place in 1974. He was also the winner of the first Cambridge Trigantius tournament. According to the [ext] The Cambridge Go Society (CUGOS) (dead link) history pages, he created the London Open tournament.

Shortly after being promoted to 5dan in 1978, he stopped playing Go. He now lives in Scotland.

Note that the Cambridge Go Society does not, as of 2021, appear to have a working website. Archived snapshots of the [ext] old site can be viewed from 2006 to 2014, and of the [ext] new site from 2015 to 2019.
