Naifan Zhao

Naifan Zhao is a Chinese amateur go player and instructor currently living in Charleston, SC. He is ranked 5dan by the Chinese Weiqi Association. He can be found by the name oasiny on KGS. He offers lessons for $25 for a game and review.

Experiences & Awards

• 2012-2013: President of Go Association in Fudan University, probably the strongest university in go around the world. The school team can easily defeat most national teams except China, Korea, and Japan.
• 2012: 7th (as a team member) in Shanghai Amateur Go Invitation Game
• 2011: 2nd in the 3rd Amateur Go Game for Universities in Shanghai
• 2013: Team member of Fudan University in the 1st Shanghai University Tournament( including both professionals and amateurs, and the team now ranks No.1 )
• 2013: 3rd place at the 3rd Emory Tournament in Atlanta, GA.
• 2002-2003: Special training from many professional players in Beijing Xinze Go School. The school was very popular then and brought up a lot of professional players. Schoolmates of many famous professional players in China, including Lan Tian 4P and Liao Xingwen 5P.

• Also, once took a lesson from Luo Xihe 9P, Wang Yuan 8P, and learned from a game and review from Gu Li 9P.

Teaching

• A lesson is composed by a game (30min-30s*5) and a review in detail as well as some skills which might be helpful for students
• The same teaching method has been used in Shanghai China for over two years.
• $20 per hour in Shanghai as a tutor.

• Good friend of Chen Xiaonan 3P, Wang Jianan 4P, Yang Zi 2P, Li Yuankun 1P.
• Familiar with the amateur master Hu Yuqing 7d (the best amateur player in the world) and his girlfriend Wang Xiangru 1P.
• Chen Xiaonan 3P is one of the best friends. He is extremely strong and defeated the world champion Lee Chang Ho in June, 2013. Naifan Zhao often plays with Chen Xiaonan 3P and is about 3 stones from him.
