Move out

  Difficulty: Introductory   Keywords: Go term

"Move out" simply means to direct a group towards connection with the center. This leads to a big area for making eye potential but hard (by itself) to gain actual territory.

Moving out is crucial for influence; the alternative, not moving out, is often to leave a nice, safe, strong group that can't help you at all anywhere else.

Bill: I let Black live in the corner in the second diagram. :-)

BTW, where did you get the idea to use only three %s?
