Meditation Techniques

The Teach Yourself Go page said that we should use calming techniques and meditation techniques during game playing. Please add information about that topic right here.

penguin: Deep breathing is the best technique I know of for short-circuiting a downward spiral.

Barthoze: Listening to classical music helps to give a more collected style. A fine collection of classical tunes, Vienna waltz, "the Moldau" and the like, soothes nicely. Except one piece somewhere in the middle, Khachaturian's "Sabre Dance" which gives quite an attacking mood.

Lynx: The following tesuji should make your games much better. In a stressful situation, such as a tough corner fight, close your eyes. Take a deep breath. As the air comes in, let it force out all tension and thoughts from you. Hold it for just a moment, exhale and feel your mind return to its normal, powerful working order.

Vincent: Sit up straight. I'm serious, especially if you're sitting slouched in front of the computer. Just stop playing for a few moments and focus on correcting your posture. This will cause the blood to renew its flow to your brain as your spine is properly adjusted.

Ohiostatehobbit?: Try singing to some of your favorite music while playing on a computer. It doesn't matter what kind, I use rock and folk, like John Hiatt or Robert Earl Keen.

Calvin: When asked by a student whether he should meditate to improve his Go, James Kerwin, 1p responded: "Go is meditation!"

Blaze?: Drinking a warm cup of tea can relax you.
