Jared: I am looking forward to the release of 3.0 - It looks like you are putting a lot of effort into it, rewriting all the code .. I am sure you now have some insights into writing an efficient system which you did not earlier. If you feel like sharing any insights specifically into the design of client-server game systems, I, for one would listen. (I am also curious what kind of hardware, and network, is needed to support something like kgs.kiseido) Thanks in advance for your thoughts and good luck on version 3! LithiumTwo: sounds wonderful, it's very exciting!
revo: I'm curious about this unit testing. How do you test a single line or block? Actually I can't imagine a coder really testing every single line :). And how can it happen that you tested 100% of the lines, blocks and methods in org.igoweb.util, when you testet only 4 out of 5 classes?
flower: I Just thought that I note that the recent changelog revisions carry a 2006 instead of 2007 timestamp :)
Scartol: Has KGS been hacked? I got a message saying my version of the client is woefully out of date. When I went to download the newest version, the page has only four or five links -- one to the Java applet, and several to teachers and how to play. No client. Am I doing something wrong? (Note: I found the client via Google.. The page for others in need is http://www.gokgs.com/download.html.)
wms: No, KGS is working fine, but I have had a few reports from OS X users that they don't see most of the buttons. Other OS X users see them all fine. What exactly is the web browser you use, and what are its settings? I would like to know exactly what is the combination, so that I can test it! Thanks.
Thanks as always for maintaining such an excellent online locale, and free no less..
FuZZ: What does the "Allow private uploads..." means?
Mef: I assume this means that when you upload a file to a room (for a demonstration), you can now make it private.
(anonymous:) Just to bring a downer into the discussion - as KGSPlus is commercial isn't it against SL to advertise it here?
(Sebastian:) No; discussing a product and its features (and bugs!) does not mean advertizing it - or else we couldn't have book reviews. We are interested to hear about commerical products related to Go - see Advertising On SL
ah good point :->
