Warning: Just because you are unable to connect to KGS, does not mean KGS is down. The problem might be on your end, at your provider, or somewhere in between. When reporting on this page, please use "<time> - Can't connect from <location>", rather than "KGS is down". If and when other people confirm this, the status can be updated. Over two hours ago problem found. Lots of other people from other
places had same problem. Server count under 400.

20:10 GMT north of Germany, still no connection, since ~20 minutes. KGS has serious problems the last weeks. I stumbled over a thread in the German Go forum of the DGoB:
It reports of serious connection problems since around a month. What you see: Start client, login window, click OK - and nothing happens, no message, no error, no console messages, nothing. Oh, now i got connection reset.

16:42 GMT, Minnesota, USA. Logging in via Cgoban3 fails. The MOTD and advertisement appear, but process hangs when I press the the "OK" button. It has been down for about 20 minutes. Edit: I tried Shin KGS, and got this message:

Since 16:30 GMT, Germany: Berlin. Cannot access KGS because CGoban freezes while trying to load the note of the day or, at latest, trying to load the advertisement. Cannot browse to http://www.gokgs.com or http://files.gokgs.com . Elsewhere in Germany, access appears to be possible. EDIT: on 2018-03-02 10:55, everything is available again.

00:11 GMT SE Minnesota, USA: It's back up. I had several minutes of getting this error: Machine at "goserver.gokgs.com" could not be found. But, just now, I was able to log in.

The server restarted several times today. Just before this, the server had several crashes, each less than 20 seconds apart. I suspect the admins disabled the ability to make new connections until they can figure out what is wrong and stabilize it.
