(b.1941) Nihon Ki-in pro 9 dan. Member of the Nihon Kiin Kansai branch. Pupil of Hosokawa Senjin 8 dan and younger brother of Ishii Mamoru 9 dan.

In 2008 Ishii reached 900 wins in his carreer (16th player of the Nihon Kiin to reach this target).

Teacher of Iyama Yuta 9 dan, the youngest Meijin, and Cho Chien 1 dan.
