Irving John Good(1916-2009) was a British Mathematician who worked at Bletchley Park with Alan Turing. It is understood that Alan taught him the rules of Go, but eventually Irving was able to give him 6 stones. After the war he mainly played the game with Roger Penrose, who was a little stronger than Irving. He later published an article on Go in 1965 in the popular magazine New Scientist.
