Introduction to Life and Death

This page is intended to explain how Life and Death works. To understand Life and Death, you need 3 basic concepts:

Once you've read the three introductory pages above, try out these 10 problems. For each problem try to decide whether the white stones are alive, dead, or unsettled. If they're unsettled, make sure you know the move to kill them and the move to make them live. If you can understand these 10, you're well on your way to understanding life and death! (By the way, this page works like a path).

Note that these exercises follow the convention that the surrounding stones (facing the center) cannot be killed.
