Igo Doshikai

Igo Doshikai (囲碁同志会) was a splinter group from Hoensha formed by Nakagawa Senji, Iwasa Kei, Nozawa Chikucho, Takabe Dohei; and involving others including Furuya Okisaburo, Suzuki Tamejiro, Nagano Keijiro, Tsuzuki Yoneko and Kita Fumiko.

Tasaka Shintaro was a strong supporter of the group. Onoda Chiyotaro also associated with the group. The group was in existence from 1909 to 1912.

Igo Sekai was the house magazine of Igo Doshikai.


Doshikai, or 'group pursuing the way'', is a common Japanese term for a society involved in traditional arts.
