Honda Kunihisa

Honda Kunihisa (本田 邦久, born 15 June 1945) is a Japanese 9-dan (1973) professional Go player affiliated to the Kansai Ki-in. He retired on 15 June 2020.

Winner of the 31st NHK Cup (1984) and of the 1997 and 2001 Kansai Ki In First Place Championship.

He is the author of The Great Joseki Debates.

Yamada Noriyoshi and Katsuma Shiro are his pupils.

John Powers notes that he was "known as probably the least talkative player in the go world."
