Holigor's Kombilo Analysis

    Keywords: Opening

I tried to analyse my games played on IGS with Kombilo. I have more than 300 games saved.

I don't really believe that the games were won or lost with the first moves but some findings were just amusing.

Playing Black, people chose hoshi against me in 75% of games. The second most popular move was komoku. The number of games with other opening moves was insignificant.

Most often I replied with a diagonal hoshi. The second option was a komoku in the upper right corner. I did much better with komoku and there is a reason for it. If in this case the opponent chose parallel fuseki then the results were just avarage, but with diagonal fuseki it was almost a clean sweep in White's favour. So, I have to conclude that inviting the opponent to the diagonal fuseki is the best thing for me.

Another interesting thing. I win 80% against low Chinese fuseki and only 20% against high Chinese.
