Go For Beginners / Discussion

Sub-page of GoForBeginners

Great book!!!! .........I owned this book, it was a favorite.

But it got wet with saltwater and never quite recovered. Imagine gritty beach sand falling from wrinkly dried pages for years.

.........In the 1970's I'd noticed an excellent review on "Go For Beginners"in Whole Earth Catalog, so excitedly ordered the swell book it, having 'played at' GO in Monterey in the 70's, when I was 17 years old, approximately. I had been enjoying GO with friends in coffehouses and "hippie" friends' homes. .........To make a long story longer, I perused the fascinating volume 'religiously" while sunning on the beach ...so intently, in fact, that I was washed over by the incoming sea...the tide had been encroaching, but I had been preoccupied as I intently studied the diagrams.... ....as I tanned (in the pre hole-in-the-ozone days when tanning was not quite so hazardous?) (sic) at a lovely sandy cove in So. California...maybe in 1975?

So, my question here is ...............did my oblivion to the incoming tide qualify as a "D'ohsuji" move????
