Starting at tengen is the normal idea, and has been seen in a number of celebrated games. A 10-9 point has been tried by Cho Chikun, Obuchi Morito and Tsurumaru Keiichi. The 10-8 point was played by Sanno Hirotaka (1960 Oteai). A one-point jump in the centre made from a 9-10 and 11-10 point was played by Akagi Kazuo (1977).
