Amateur Fuseki 7
Could someone please explain how to proceed with white in this position? (With the black thickness white already seems to have a problem...)
How would you estimate this position? Did white gain or lose in the last 10 moves?
HolIgor: white lost the exit to the center. That is big. I think that white could afford to lose the corner. It was not an awful lot of points.
For example in the variation up to 8 white is alive, yet to be limited, has 3 points instead of 7 but there is some possibiliity to attack the black's group at the bottom.
JoelR: So given does not attack anything, perhaps should be at the circled point instead of the right side? How does retaining the corner compare to continuing the right-hand framework?
Many thanks!
Dieter: I thought was more active, at first, but probably White and are too easy. BTW, doesn't Black have to play first here (see above caption).
